Supporting Your Downline With Your Professional Skills.

The multi-level marketing model is structured around the idea that the person who sponsors you into the company will help you build your business. There is a suggestion with this model that the person who sponsors you has a particular set of professional skills and methods to help you be successful with your opportunity. Unfortunately, you don’t have to do much research to find the statistics about the failure rate of MLM businesses.

The most misleading idea about network marketing is selling the idea of an “opportunity” instead of a “business”. Selling an “opportunity” implies that a favorable circumstance already exists and that all you have to do is sign up. This clouds the reality that you may not have the professional skill set to actually run a business. This fundamental concept is at the core of why most multi-level marketing businesses fail.

The multi-level marketing business has been so discredited that it has lead some to take a hard look at its core weaknesses; first and foremost, the the lack of professional skills that a sponsor can offer their down line.

How have things improved over the last few years? One area of improvement has been the idea that a sponsor or up line team member should have some professional skills and or resources to offer their down line. If you are partnering with someone it is important to know the professional background and skills of the people on your team.

Network marketing professionals are offering training and resources to support their down lines:

* Personal Coaching * Natural Marketing and Sales Methods * Internet Skills - Blogging & Social Networking * Website Creation and Branding * Web Seminars * Content and Article Marketing

The new professionalism in the network marketing industry attracts people to your business opportunity for a variety of reasons. People want to partner with a sponsor who has a variety of skills and resources to offer their down line. In this new model you may find people will want to partner with you for reasons not directly related to your network marketing business. No matter what the case is, as a sponsor, I try to think out of the box and find innovative ways to support the people on my team.

Whatever your experience has been, positive or negative, the network marketing industry is here to stay. It is the most profitable model to bring a product or service to market and offer attractive compensation to its partners. The good news is that the industry is attracting serious entrepreneurs whose central focus is to continually add value to their organizations.
